Lola's Girl Posse

It has been an especially busy month for Lola. As kindergarten nears, her nursery school friendships are suddenly richer and more complex than ever. Or maybe that's just a girl thing. Life just wouldn't be complete without her regular cosmetics pow-wows with eyeshadow expert Emma, above, (one third of the triplets) at Beeman Park. Below, she is pictured with her morning posse, Samantha (in the cowboy hat), Maya in the purple and Colette in the pigtails. She snuggled up in bed for a photo with Neorah. And hugged it out with her new friend from church Dot as they lived it up at KidSpace. Some days it's really awesome to be 5.

Tough Cookies

Better late than never - here are a few photos of Lola and her best buddy Colette on the scorching March day we staked out the Sherman Oaks Ralph's and unleashed these little beauties on unsuspecting shoppers. Together, they quickly developed a sure-fire sales technique. Both girls would stand directly in front of the exit, refusing to let shoppers pass without a "yes" or "no."

The Little Gymnast

Last Saturday, Lola joined dozens of other wee gymnasts for the Jr. Gym Exhibition. She showed off her skills on the parallel bars, the balance beam and wowed the audience with her flawless forward rolls. Here, she wears the medal she earned for her hard work. (Apologies for the blurriness.) See our YouTube account for video of the event.

Lola, Pole Climber

Lola's been taking gymnastics for about three months now and suddenly there isn't a pole she cannot climb. Here she wriggles up one of the aluminum poles that hold up a sun shade at Children's Circle. Climbing these poles has become a competitive sport among the 5 year olds at school, all of whom are at the same gymnastics school. (For those wondering, she was surrounded by adults who are just out of frame.)
