It has been an especially busy spring break for Lola. She had two weeks off school and we made the most of it. Pony rides were, naturally, a part of the fun.

Lola Loves Her Cat

And Bunk loves her right back.

Spring Break!

Lola's Aunt Joan moved to Los Angeles a couple weeks ago and here's how Lola feels about it.

More Easter fun

Before we left the house, Lola decided that face paint was going to be essential. So we used a little greasepaint to draw some hearts. Then, when we got there to find that they had REAL facepainting, we of course had to add a butterfly to the already decorated cheeks.

The Great Easter Egg Hunt

We took Lola to an Easter egg hunt at a beautiful place called The Arboretum - which fulfills its namesake. Though she was a tad apprehensive at first -- there were hundreds of children there all vying for eggs after all -- she bolted out onto a field strewn with colored plastic eggs like a fearless Easter Egg Hunt warrior. It was truly something to see.

The Hipster Child

It was chilly the Saturday morning before ballet class, giving Lola the opportunity to sport this stylish ensemble.

Costume change #137

Arabesque!

That cowboy feeling...

Lola got some new red cowboy boots which naturally demanded the need for the cowboy costume she got for her birthday last year.

The Little Dancer

Lola's recital this year was slightly less dramatic than last year's. Budget cuts you know. There wasn't much preparation. But the girls did get to wear these nifty costumes. We're still not entirely sure what she was supposed to be. The music was from the Nutcracker. Lola especially enjoyed the fairy wings.

IRISH (and a smidge Italian)

Here's our favorite Mick on Saint Paddy's Day.. notice the toe.

Spring Means Gifts!

Here Lola models a few spring gifts - the gardening gloves (pink of course) and the ever popular butterfly hairbands..

Best friends!

Since Lola started school in January, she has bonded with a trio of triplets.. And here they are. First there's Lola and the more thoughtful Isabelle. Then there's the buoyant Emma. And the prickly and lovable Ethan.

Lola's favorite Sunday treat

Michael loves Maggiano's and now, so does Lola! It's their favorite Dad and daughter excursion..

Genius at work

Lola's hand-eye coordination has grown more sophisticated by the day (as I'm sure you can tell from this brilliant sketch). She is now able to write her name!
